Since 2015 I am a Professor for Information Science at the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, where I teach compulsory courses, as well as electives in the area of Computational Linguistics (CL) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) while continuing with research in various areas of CL and NLP.
From 2013-2015 I worked as a Post-Doc at the Institut for Educational Research and Educational Information (DIPF) in Frankfurt, in cooperation with the Ubiquitous Knowledge Processing (UKP) Lab at the TU Darmstadt. Our focus was on applying NLP technlogy in the educational domain.
From 2008 until 2013 I worked in various companies in the context of applying NLP technology in the real world.
From 2004 until 2009 I did my PhD at EML Research (now Heidelberg Institut for Theoretical Studies -- HITS) under the supervision of Dr. Michael Strube and Prof. Günther Görz from the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg on the topic of Automatic Summarization of Multi-Party Dialogues.
From 1997 until 2004 I studied computational linguistics and computer science in Stuttgart (IMS), Edinburgh and Cambridge (CNBH).
